RECTORIAL EVENTS 2012
In October 2011, 49% of the University of St. Andrews’ student body voted in the Rectorial Elections-the largest election turnout in St. Andrews history!
The student body has mandated Alistair Moffat to work as their rector; his tasks will include chairing the University Court, holding open surgeries and taking student issues and representing them at the highest level of University politics.
Alistair will be inducted on the 20th of March into his new position of responsibility. It is our time, as students, to celebrate our choice of rector, as well as our deep involvement and commitment to this university.
To celebrate the installation of the rector, four spectacular events will be held between March 19th and 20th, all involving student participation: the Rectorial Drag, the Torchlight Procession, the Rectorial Installation and the Rectorial Closing Party.
